EUDR Troubleshooting – Due Diligence Statement (DDS)

Troubleshooting guide for common issues when generating and submitting Due Diligence Statements in the Prewave EUDR solution.

I cannot generate a new Due Diligence Statement

To generate a DDS, your product must have "Allowed" status.

Step 1: Check your product's status. If it shows "Blocked" or "Waiting", hover over the label to see the reason.

Common blockers include:

  • Waiting for Origins: your supplier has not yet provided origin data, or declined the request.

  • Deforestation Check Required: you need to manually request the basic deforestation check.

  • Non-negligible Deforestation Check: the assessment found a risk level that must be addressed.

  • Non-negligible Legality Score: the legality score is below 40.

Step 2: Use the status filter and select "Allowed" to see only products ready for DDS generation.

Step 3: Make sure product information is complete, including weight in kilograms and any supplementary units required by your HS code.

Note: If you are a downstream operator and your supplier already provided a Supplier DDS for the product, you are not required to generate a new DDS. The "New DDS" column will show "Not Required".

I cannot submit my Due Diligence Statement

Step 1: Check that all mandatory fields are completed — marked with an asterisk (*). You need the fill out the legal entity information and the product weight in kilograms, plus any supplementary units required by your HS code.

  • For Domestic or Trade movements, also enter the net mass and a percentage deviation (0–25%).

  • If submission fails, review the error message on screen. Common issues: invalid HS codes, missing EORI numbers for import/export, or incomplete geolocation data.

Step 2: Make sure your DDS status shows "Draft" — click "Save DDS" before attempting to submit it to TRACES.

I cannot withdraw my submitted DDS in Prewave

Withdrawing a submitted DDS is not possible directly within Prewave. This action must be performed in TRACES.

Important: There is a 72-hour window to withdraw a submitted DDS in TRACES. If you need the DDS removed permanently from Prewave, please contact our Support team.

I cannot see legal entity information in the DDS generation window

You need to create legal entities first as EUDR-type product groups:

  1. Go to Products > Groups.

  2. Click "Add Product Group" and select "EUDR" as the type.

  3. Fill in all required fields: entity name, address, country, and EORI number.

  4. Assign your products to the relevant legal entities through the Groups tab.

  5. Return to the DDS generation window — you will now see a dropdown to select the appropriate legal entity, which will auto-populate the entity details.

I accidentally submitted a DDS with the wrong weight

  1. Contact Prewave´s Support to have the DDS removed from the system. Withdrawing a DDS is only possible withing the 72-hour withdrawal window.

  2. Re-submit the DDS with the correct weight.


If the issue persists after following these steps, please contact our Support team with a description of the issue, the steps already tried, and any error messages shown on screen.
