EUDR: Producer Discovery

When a supplier submits origin information for a producer not yet registered in the Prewave database, the system initiates a Producer Discovery process to ensure data integrity and accurate risk mapping.

What is a Producer Discovery?

Producer Discovery is an automated verification and screening process of the producer triggered whenever new producer details are submitted to the Prewave platform.

How it Works

As soon as a supplier submits origin information for a new producer, the system flags the entry with a Producer Discovery label next to the origin. The Producer Discovery is triggered automatically, as soon as the supplier submitted the origin information.

Depending on the volume of new producers being identified, the discovery process typically takes a few business days.

If you are the user who initiated the Product Origin Request (POR), you will receive automated email updates regarding the discovery status.

Impact on Legality Assessments

While a producer is undergoing discovery, the Legality Assessment will display a "Required" status if the origin is in a high or standard risk country. This indicates that the assessment is pending the completion of the producer's profile.

Once the discovery process is complete:

  1. Risk Scores are Generated: The legality assessment score will automatically populate.

  2. Comprehensive Data: The producer will be assigned a country-level score, an industry/commodity-specific score and an alert score.
