EUDR: Supplementary Units for Due Diligence Statement (DDS) Creation

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When preparing a Due Diligence Statement (DDS) for submission, accuracy regarding product quantities is essential for regulatory compliance.

The entry of the net mass is always required, which must always be provided in kilograms.

Certain products may also need the entry of supplementary units. These additional requirements are determined specifically by the HS code of the product in question. To simplify this process, the platform includes built-in validation logic that automatically identifies whether your HS code requires these extra details. If a supplementary unit is not legally required for your specific product, the corresponding data field will appear greyed out and remain inactive, preventing the submission of unnecessary information and ensuring your data remains compliant.

The specific requirements for your submission may also vary depending on the nature of the trade. It is important to distinguish whether your transaction is an Import/Export or a Domestic/Trade movement, as these categories carry different data obligations.

For Domestic/Trade filings, you are required to provide both the net mass and a percentage estimate or deviation. In these instances, the platform allows for a deviation value ranging from 0 to 25. Once these mandatory fields are accurately completed and all other relevant criteria are met, the system will enable the submission functionality, allowing you to finalize your Due Diligence Statement.
