Direct Level
Alerts will affect targets on direct level whenever Prewave is able to connect an alert to the concrete target based on information within the alert sources that allow for a direct association like "Factory Plants of Automotive Excellence AG in Detroit were affected by earthquakes". In such cases Prewave will connect the alert to the specific sites in of the Automotive Excellence AG in Detroit.
Site Group Level
Alerts will affect targets on site group level whenever a certain site group brand is mentioned in the alert sources, but it is impossible to narrow down which of the Site Group targets are actually affected. An example for this would be a media source outlining that the "Unlimited Credit bank is accused of fraud". For Prewave it is impossible to tell, which site or part of the organization is responsible for this event. The alert is still created and spreads to the site group entity and its child sites.
Regional Level
On regional level alerts will affect sites, if the affected regions that Prewave detects are found in the locality attributes of a target. When GDACS for example reports a severe weather phenomenon, it typically also links a polygon describing the expansion of the event. In case the polygon overlays with certain localities like big cities or counties, all targets with these locality attributes will be affected by the alert produced through the GDACS signal we detect.
Tier-2 Level (Tier-N clients only)
With the help of Prewave's native supplier network data, clients having purchased Tier-N packages can also monitor events on Tier-2 level for all mapped Tier-1 targets. In case Prewave detects certain signals affecting your suppliers' suppliers, this will prompt an alert on your Tier-1 supplier outlining their direct supplier affected.
Tier-3+ Level (Tier-N clients only)
Similar to above impact filter one can take an even more exhaustive approach and also monitor the deeper supply chain connecting ones Tier-2 with Tier 3 and so forth and thereby enlarge the sample of targets to monitor. This will typically lead to an almost exponential growth of the supplier sample. Including this impact filter should come with a couple of considerations like:
β
How much impact should an event on Tier-3 level have on my Tier-1 supplier?
How many and which Tier-1 suppliers should undergo this scrutiny?
Commodity Level
At Prewave you can connect any Prewave commodity (Tungsen, aluminium etc.) during the discovery phase/supplier upload. The commodity attribute can then be used, amongst other use cases, to score and monitor your suppliers for events affecting commodities important for your suppliers operations. Let's say there is a shortage of rare earth minerals production in Myanmar and you have a battery producer among your suppliers, you will probably want this event to reflect on your suppliers risk profile.
