đ ď¸ How-to guide ¡ For users whose legality assessment result is missing, unexpected, or cannot be resolved.
This article lists the most common problems with the legality assessment of an origin, what causes them, and what to do.
The origin stays Pending or Required
Pending means the origin has not been assessed yet. Required means it was assessed, but no result could be produced yet, for example because information about the producer is still missing.
You do not need to request a legality assessment. It runs automatically when the origin is created, and again when its producer is identified or the producer's screening finishes, until the origin has a result.
If an origin is still Pending or Required after five working days, contact our Support team. The assessment should have finished by then.
The origin request is blocked, but the legality result is Negligible
The Due Diligence Statement (DDS) Gate reason Assessment required or non-negligible covers more than one assessment. If the legality result on the origin request page is Negligible, the block comes from the deforestation check of one of its origins. Check the DF Check column under "Answer â declared origins".
The result did not change when the producer's score changed
This is expected. Each origin is assessed once, and the result stays fixed, together with the score that produced it. Later changes to the producer's score do not change it. To understand why, see EUDR: Understanding the legality assessment.
The origin is still Non-negligible after a self-assessment or an internal score
A self-assessment result or an internal score added after the origin was assessed counts in the producer's score from the next assessment on. It does not change a result that is already fixed. To unblock the origin, record a decision: derisk it or deactivate it. See EUDR: How to resolve a non-negligible legality result.
I cannot record a decision for an origin
You can record a decision only for an origin that is:
Non-negligible
active
not yet part of a DDS
If the "Record decision" button is missing, check these conditions on the origin. If the origin meets all of them and the decision still cannot be submitted, contact our Support team.
I recorded the wrong decision
A decision cannot be undone or edited in the platform. Contact our Support team and name the origin request, the producer and the decision you recorded.
The origin shows Not required
Not required means no legality assessment applies to the origin. For example, the origin was provided through a supplier's DDS: your supplier already carried out due diligence on it, so you are not obliged to do so again. The origin does not block your DDS, and there is nothing to do.
When you contact our Support team, include the origin request (its purchase order, shipment or other reference), the producer, what you see on screen, and what you have already tried.
For the rules behind each status, see EUDR: Legality assessment methodology versions.
