Annual Peer Score Update

Each year, we update the Prewave Peer Scores, which include Country, Industry, and Commodity Risk Assessments. These updates ensure our scores reflect the most accurate and current supply chain risks. With these changes, you may notice updates to the scores of your suppliers starting in 2025.

Here’s what you need to know about this update:

  • Country Scores: Primarily used for compliance with LkSG and other sustainability regulations, these scores are derived from a variety of NGO indices, reports, and databases. A comprehensive list of sources and links to those sources

  • Industry and Commodity Scores: These are calculated based on the frequency of underlying risk events detected by our AI-based monitoring system over the past few years.

The updated scores are intended to remain stable throughout 2025 and will only be revised in exceptional cases. Scores will be release on 22nd of January, 2025

Addressing Data GapsWe are excited to introduce a new approach to handling incomplete data sources. For instance, when a country is not included in a specific index, such as the Modern Slavery Index, we now use a trained AI model to identify correlations with similar countries. This enables us to generate a reliable risk score even when direct data is unavailable.

This enhancement ensures a comprehensive risk assessment for every supplier, regardless of gaps in the underlying data sources.

Transition to New Peer ScoresThe new scores will take effect starting January 01, 2025. Any risk analyses conducted with a date prior to 2025 will continue to use the old Peer Scores, ensuring consistency in your reports.

LkSG Perspective Updates

New Perspective OptionsIn response to customer feedback, we’ve introduced a new LkSG Perspective for 2025 that excludes the event types Labour Strike, Labour Demonstration, and Protest/Demonstration. The reason behind this is, while Protests can be an indicator for bad working conditions, the LkSG specifically mentions undermining the Freedom of Association - A protest is a healthy sign that this freedom is not compromised, and therefore has been removed from the new Perspective.

The previous perspective will remain available for those who wish to include these event types.

  • The updated perspective is titled “LkSG 2025.”

  • The previous perspectives names, “LkSG” and “LkSG 2024” will remain untouched.

Perspective PermissionsTo enhance the platform experience, we will be gradually limiting access to outdated perspectives. If your organization is ready to adopt the new LkSG 2025 Perspective, your Customer Success Manager can assist with the transition and, if appropriate, deactivate the LkSG 2024 Perspective for your team.

We are committed to providing you with the tools and insights you need for effective risk management and compliance. If you have any questions or need support with these updates, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Customer Success Manager or Customer Support via [email protected]

Wishing you a successful start to the new year,The Prewave Team
